The Elwins Share New Song, Announce New Album Beauty Community

Since the release of their excellent full-length debut LP Play for Keeps in 2015, the Elwins have been tirelessly touring and performing memorable shows for their ever-growing fanbase. Fans now have a second full-length album to look forward to in the form of Beauty Community, which the band has announced will be released via Hidden Pony Records on October 13th in Canada and the United States.

The track list shows the record to be thirteen songs in length, and a little taste of what to expect can be heard in the album opener “Hey! Ya, You”, a super-catchy tune you might recognize from some of their more recent live performances. Give it a listen below.

In addition to all this good news, the Elwins will also embark on a lengthy Canadian tour beginning in September, which will include a number of Ontario stops, including a December 3rd show at the Mod Club in Toronto.

St. Vincent Will Direct Female-Led Adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray

Annie Clark (a.k.a St. Vincent) made her directorial debut last year with the short film The Birthday Party as part of the XX Horror Anthology. Now she’s decided to return to film with her second directorial effort in the form of a modern adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s classic 1890 novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray. The film, which will be written by David Birke (who recently penned the French thriller Elle), will feature a female protagonist.

St. Vincent has also been active in her capacities as a musician, having recently returned to music with a new single titled “New York” earlier this summer.
