Kendrick Lamar Gets Violent in Intense New Video for ‘ELEMENT’

Kendrick Lamar has released a new video for his song ‘ELEMENT’ from his latest album Damn, and it features plenty of violent and affecting imagery. The video was directed by Jonas Lindstroem and Lamar himself, although it’s credited to his alias “the little homies”. As in his videos for ‘HUMBLE’, and ‘DNA’, Kendrick is prominently featured throughout the video which depicts some bloody fights, nuns, and children exposed to graphic violence. The video is a powerful one and can be seen below.

The Compton rapper is set to begin a world tour promoting his album Damn, which was released earlier this year in April. The tour begins in Phoenix on July 12th and will see him pass through Toronto on July 25th when he plays the Air Canada Centre.

Melody’s Echo Chamber Cancels Tour Dates After “Serious Accident”

French artist Melody Prochet, the mastermind behind Melody’s Echo Chamber, announced earlier this year that she would soon be releasing a new album titled Bon Voyage, and even shared a new single, ‘Cross My Heart’. She had also scheduled a bunch of tour dates which were to begin in October, but due to a “serious accident”, those shows have now been canceled.

Her family released a statement via her Facebook page:

Dearest Friends,
Melody suffered a serious accident earlier this month.
We are optimistic, but she needs to be in the hospital
for a few more months.
Due to these circumstances, Melody’s upcoming Tour
has been canceled.
But she is hopeful to be able to play shows again soon
Thank you for your support
– Melody’s Family –

It’s unclear exactly what occurred or when new music will arrive as Bon Voyage was expected out earlier this spring, but here’s hoping she makes it through and graces us with her beautiful sounds soon.

The XX Cancel Iceland Festival

The XX have announced that the Icelandic portion of their Night + Day Festival has been canceled. The festival was set to take place at Skógafoss from July 14th to 16th, but after the site was added to the Environmental Agency of Iceland’s list of endangered areas, the group made the decision that show would not go on.

A promoter for the event released a statement saying: “Ultimately the challenges on this site were insurmountable and it was not possible to secure another suitable venue in time. We know that people will be hugely disappointed as we are, but we hope everyone understands the situation.”

Earl Sweatshirt, Robyn, Sampha, and Warpaint were among the artists scheduled to perform.
