Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett Announce Tour, Collaborative Album

Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett have announced that they will be touring North America together in support of an upcoming collaborative album that the pair have been working on over the course of the last 15 months. The duo will be accompanied by the Sea Lice, a band composed of an assortment of accomplished musicians, including Janet Weiss (Sleater-Kinney, Wild Flag), Rob Laakso (The Violators, The Swirlies, Mice Parade), Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint), and Katie Harkin (Sky Larkin).

You can check out this link to all the tour dates, which includes a stop at Toronto’s Massey Hall on October 31st. In addition, $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). The new album is out later this year.

Kurt Vile’s last album was 2015’s b’lieve i’m goin down, and Courtney Barnett released her last record Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, in the same year.

Alvvays Share New Song from Upcoming New Album, Antisocialites

Toronto-based Alvvays have announced a follow-up to their solid self-titled debut which came out in 2014. The sophomore album will be titled Antisocialites and will be out on September 8th via Polyvinyl/Transgressive. Frontwoman Molly Rankin has described the record as “a fantasy breakup arc” in a press release. The group has also released the first single from the album, and it’s called ‘In Undertow’. The pop-rockers have scheduled a lengthy tour schedule that will see them performing at the Mod Club four nights in a row starting on December 13th.


Fleet Foxes Share New Song, ‘If You Need To, Keep Time on Me’

Fleet Foxes have released the third song off their highly-anticipated Crack-Up, the band’s first album in six years. The track is titled ‘If You Need To, Keep Time on Me’, and it’s a gentle pleasure. Crack-Up will be out on June 16th through Nonesuch Records but will be available to stream in its entirety tomorrow on NPR’s First Listen. The band will perform at Massey Hall on August 4th and 5th.
