Crescendo are a dreamy psych-pop project with a post-punk slant. In other words, a match made in heaven. Based out of Los Angeles, the trio makes music with the ability to transport you far, far away. With pulsating percussion and a dark sparkle, this is one band you don’t want to sleep on. Last year they released their sophomore LP Unless.
The album is short with many tracks. So when you listen, you fade in and out of different sounds from a collective consciousness. Some tracks not containing any vocals at all, feel like bridges that carry you across the record. One track in particular, The Morning Sonata, contains a sample from the Twilight Zone; cleverly placed roughly at the middle of the albums run time.
Though their latest release is a little over a year old, Crescendo represents a burgeoning shoegaze/dream-pop scene all around the world.
