Hollerado Get Political with Music Video For “Grief Money”
Hollerado released the second single off their upcoming album, Born Yesterday, along with a music video featuring footage of Donald Trump and his crusade against the scourge of ‘fake news’. The song, “Grief Money”, is a call for empathy and understanding amidst all the chaos facing the world. Lead singer Menno Versteeg recently explained the song’s intentions, stating:
“This world is a beautiful place and full of perfect creatures of all shapes and sizes. We don’t need to all be best friends but we have to find a way exist on the same planet. For now, it’s the best one we have.”
Born Yesterday is set to be released on April 14th, 2017. Check out the video now.
CBC Music Festival Announces All-Canadian Lineup for 2017
The CBC Music Festival will be returning for the fifth time in the spring and is set to take place at Echo Beach, on May 27th. Selena Ryder and Walk Off The Earth will headline the festivities, which includes a plethora of Canadian talent. Keys N’ Krates have also been selected to perform, alongside Ruth B and Scott Helman. Tickets for the event go on sale to the general public on March 3rd .
Lorde Has Been Releasing Some Cryptic Videos
It appears the long-anticipated promise of new music from the exciting talent that is Lorde may finally be coming to fruition, although it remains clouded in mystery. Lorde recently shared a couple of videos in which a snippet of music plays accompanied by a video of the singer. The videos’ endings suggest something will be happening on March 2nd, so prepare yourselves. Lorde’s previous release was 2013’s Pure Heroine.
Franz Ferdinand Touring for First Time in Three Years
Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand will be heading back out on the road for the first time in a while, as the group has scheduled shows across North America for the first time since 2014. The band has been active however, as they toured alongside Sparks as supergroup FFS in 2015. Their last studio album was 2013’s Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action. The band will be playing the Danforth Music Hall on June 2nd in Toronto.
Father John Misty, Depeche Mode Will Be Touring Soon
Father John Misty announced plans of a short North American tour, with stops scheduled at the Royal Alexandra Theater in Toronto on May 5th and 6th 2017. The tour will be in support of his upcoming album, Pure Comedy, due out on April 7th.
Similarly, Depeche Mode will be embarking on a more exhaustive tour to promote their upcoming album, Spirits, which will be out on March 17th. The international tour sees them traveling through many countries with a September 3rd stop at the Air Canada Center.
Tom DeLonge Awarded UFO Researcher of the Year Award
Tom Delonge, formerly a member of blink-182, has made headlines for the work he has done researching the UFO phenomenon, and it appears his work has attracted some notice from the UFO community. Open Minds Production, a UFO-conspiracy network of sorts, announced that DeLonge has received their award as UFO Researcher of the Year, detailing his accomplishments in the video below.
