USS, Hollerado Release New Music

Alternative-rock duo USS have plans to release their upcoming album, New World Alphabet, on January 13. The group is currently on tour and will be playing shows across the country over the next month. The new album is currently available to stream in case you can’t wait until Friday.


Ottawa rockers Hollerado also released a new single, Born Yesterday, with a studio album soon to follow. You can catch them live as they stop by The Sound Academy on January 20th with the Sam Roberts Band in what is sure to be a fantastic show.

Music to Look Forward to in 2017

In non-local news, Pitchfork has shared a list of highly anticipated releases for the winter season and there is much to look forward to in 2017. You can expect new music from artists like The Shins (who recently performed a new song, “The Fear”, on a new episode of A Prairie Home Companion ), Arcade Fire, Japandroids, Los Campesinos, and Lorde among many others. Check out the full list.

Lineups for Coachella, Panorama Festivals Announced

Also, Coachella kicked off the new year by reminding us that the cold weather must end sometime and announced its summer festival lineup. Scheduled to run the weekends of April 14-16 and April 21-13, headliners include Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, and Beyoncé. Other notables include Father John Misty, Glass Animals, Mac Demarco, Car Seat Headrest, and Lorde who will be touring for the first time since 2014. Consequence of Sound broke down what it all means.


New York’s Panorama Festival also announced its lineup which will include performances from Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest, Vince Staples, Angel Olsen, and Solange. The festival will take place July 28 through 30. Check out the full guest list.
